I currently use a Tangent Quattro MKII. It sits on my bedstand and I use it with wireless headphones.

I am in the market for a new device with the following features:
- internet radio, communicates with Reciva for favorites;
- clock/alarm (MKII is not usable for this, I need a bigger clock display with an alarm);
- output for headphones;
- USB input, so I can listen to audio without streaming over the internet;
- wired network capability a plus, not required.

Any suggestions? Thanks - Gary

Only a Reciva-based internet radio can access the Reciva database.

Since you are in the USA, your best bet is probably a Grace Digital Mondo: https://gracedigital.com/shop/mondo. Wired network is possible with their USB-LAN adapter (but this ties up your USB port, so you'd need a mini-hub or splitter - or put your music on network storage).
Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i, Sangean WFR-29C, Technisat 450 & 520, Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010 & DIR3100. See 'Small Ads' section for Reciva radios for sale.

The problem with my MKII is, the alarm sounds through the headphones if headphones are plugged in. I almost always listen to the radio through headphones, and eventually set the headphones aside, so the alarm is useless. This means I have to have a separate alarm device.

If I set the Mondo's alarm to "buzzer" with headphones connected, does the buzzer play through the speaker or through the headphones?

I like the Grace Encore. The only thing is it's pretty big and it only has Wi-Fi but it has all the other things you wanted. I have it in my bedroom and use it all the time for listening to go to bed with.

It is quite big; bigger than some bedside tables.

and it only has Wi-Fi
Grace do offer a USB-LAN adapter: https://gracedigital.com/shop/usb-to-ethernet-lan (also suitable for the Mondo).

I found out that the Grace Mondo buzzer plays through the headphones if the headphones are plugged in.

What I realize is that I don't want an internet radio that has a clock/alarm as an afterthought. I want the clock/alarm to be as important as the radio. Like a real bedside clock radio. I currently use both (my Tangent, plus a clock radio).

Sorry, I don't think I know of anything that won't play the alarm through the headphones if the headphones are plugged in.  I think you're either stuck with your clock plus radio solution, or you train yourself to pull the headphones out of the jack as you nod off.
