New Amazon device has been officially announced.
7-inch screen and a camera, 2 speakers and a bunch of microphones.
Taking pre-orders (USA) now for delivery next month.
Price around 230USD with big discount if buying 2 during this launch phase.

I note the following (with my emphasis):

"Introducing a new way to be together. Make hands-free video calls to friends and family who have an Echo Show or the Alexa App, and make voice calls to anyone who has an Echo or Echo Dot."

Does that mean that voice calls between the audio only models (ie Echo and Echo Dot) is a forthcoming added feature for them?

Amazon taking on Skype?
