roberts stream 93i
« on: 08:47:08 | 06 August, 2017 »
hi,

my stream 93i has suddenly(5/8/17) stopped being able to stream the bbc mpeg dash streams.has anyone else got the same problem? my logitech squeezebox is streaming both mpeg dash & the flac with no problems which maybe points to a problem with my radio. i've added the bbc aac stream via the silicon frontier portal & this streams fine.

My 93i (currently in Portrush, N. Ireland) is also having BBC problems: I tried to tune Radio 4 and Radio 2 from presets and also via the BBC entry in the main internet radio menu. The radio hesitates, then tunes to a silent MP3 stream. Looks like Auntie has been messing with the URLs again. I don't have any other radios with me here to check, though. If the problem persists tomorrow, perhaps an email to Roberts might help - it's not their fault, but they may be able to lean on Froniter to lean on the BBC to get their act together.
Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i, Sangean WFR-29C, Technisat 450 & 520, Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010 & DIR3100.

Yes, me as well. Both my stream 93i (2 of) just give visual display with no audio on any BBC live internet stations , but listen again is working ok.
My older Roberts (stream 83i) is working ok on BBC live internet stations but this uses their MP3 streams (which I assume are on count down towards being obsolete)

many thanks for the prompt replies.i guessed it might be the bbc(again). i've emailed roberts so wait their reply.i just hope i've not wasted money again on a roberts to listen to the high quality streams,my colourstream couldn't receive the mpeg dash streams and roberts wouldn't update the software which lead me to the 93i.

Since this seems to be a BBC issue rather than a Roberts Stream 93i specific issue, I have started a new thread under BBC.
Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i, Sangean WFR-29C, Technisat 450 & 520, Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010 & DIR3100.

For what it's worth both of my Roberts Istream 2's have also had this issue since Saturday.  I'm hoping it's a BBC issue and they get around to fixing it.  Sorry since posting I noticed this has been opened a another thread (oops).

Most of the BBC listen again is not working. Just get " no shows available". It's been like it for a few days now. Can get these programmes ok on the BBC iPlayer on the computer. I wonder who is to blame for the failure... is it the Beeb or Frontier Silicon? Last time it happened it was the Beeb

Do you mean podcasts? Any particular podcast? I just tried a couple on my Frontier-based Hama; they both played normally.

It seems that it is only affecting BBC local stations , the national ones (ie Radio 2) are ok.
I have 2 Roberts stream 93i and they are both responding the same. I have attempted to listen to Steve Cherell on BBC Essex and Keith Skues on BBC Norfolk and in both cases I just get "no show available"

I get the same result for those two podcasts on my Hama. It is therefore not a Roberts issue.

I note, however, that some other podcasts on both those stations, and other BBC podcasts, are listed. So it is not a general problem at the BBC.

It would seem to me that the podcasts you wanted simply are not available. If you think they should be, perhaps you shouid contact the BBC.

Both these podcasts are available on the BBC iPlayer which I can listen to on the computer so they do actually exist. It is strange why it affects the BBC local stations but the BBC national stations are  ok.
There was a similar problem a few months ago ( I think it was in August) and was caused by the BBC doing whatever they were doing. Therefore I assume that they have been tinkering about with the streams again
