if you installed ep2 as well you can just create them anew, probably.
Here is one example though.
It turns out that besides he mandatory station name and url, the other xml tags can be whatever.

No need to install ep2 "as well".  Just install ep2 straight off instead of an original Sharpfin.

Yes I installed ep2, AFAIK this allows to edit stored presets, but I can't find a way to create a new preset. Or am I missing something ?.

I already tried using the following format. I did this by connecting using telnet as admin user and creating a file preset5.xml with the vi editor in the root/config directory. But all the presets still don't work and the preset editing page of Sharpfin still shows no presets stored.

Code: [Select]
<preset od-starttime="0" type="PresetType:Internet" id="5" stream-id="2149">
<station id="2765" custommenuid="0">
<data><stream id="2149"><url>http://stream.live.vc.bbcmedia.co.uk/bbc_radio_five_live</url>
<title>BBC 5 Live</title>
</stream>
</data>
</station>
</preset>

Maybe I should have been more specific in my original post.

What I would really like is for someone who has presets stored and installed ep2. To open one of their presetN.xml files using the Sharpfin file explorer (on the Admin home page) and post the contents of the xml file, please.

Hello Stephen,

Probably the BBC is not the best station to test.

The advantage of GFORUMS enhance pack 2 is that you can add stations via the interface. Which is exciting of course.

The disadvantage is that it lacks some information like metadata and logo, and others

Here is a complete xml file:

Content-Length
Content-Disposition attachment; filename=/root/config/preset28.xml; size=580

<preset od-starttime="0" type="PresetType:Internet" stream-id="27267"><station id="30876" custommenuid="0"><description>Welkom bij jezelf</description>
<version>1471</version>
<data><menu><name>NPO FunX Latin</name>
<stream id="27267"><url>http://icecast.omroep.nl/funx-latin-bb-mp3</url>
<title>NPO FunX Latin (Breedband)</title>
<tag>Breedband</tag>
<metadata><use-metadata author="true" title="true"></use-metadata>
</metadata>
</stream>
</menu>
</data>
<logo>http://imda.omroep.nl/logos/funx_600.png</logo>
<genres>29</genres>
<locations>191</locations>
</station>
</preset>

and here is the same station xml file from the enhance pack

Content-Length
Content-Disposition attachment; filename=/root/config/preset43.xml; size=195

<preset type='PresetType:Internet' id='43'><station id='3508'>
<data><stream><url>http://icecast.omroep.nl/funx-latin-bb-mp3</url>
<title>NPO fun latin</title></stream></data></station></preset>

you can always use preset0.xml as a starting point and store this station under the preset you want.

Peter

Just to the right of 'Presets Manage' is 'Store'. Click on that.

Thanks for your replies

I figure out that the 'Store' button allows to create a new preset.  And in doing so I discovered that the preset file extension is .txt and not .xml  ...so now I can setup all my presets.

Thanks.
