Vistron MX 200i possible repair (power/DC socket?)
« on: 04:59:30 | 10 May, 2014 »
Hi all
Our beloved Vistron MX200i has sudeenly stopped turning on. Could this be as simple as just the DC socket replacement (adapter is OK) which has been somewhat iffy connection wise since very early on or more serious. Any guidance on testing and parts replacement welcome. Best wishes to all.

It could be the socket or something more serious.  If there is any sign of life such as display backlight coming on or lit/flashing LED(s) inside then it is more than the socket.

The MX200i is relatively easy to open up for a peek inside.  Just the four screws at the back.

Thanks for your reply. There are brief sign of display illumination if I wiggle the DC input jack but otherwise no signs of life. I have already had a look inside. As you say very basic.
