radio.now: BBC MP3 streams until end 2017
« on: 01:20:35 | 07 January, 2016 »
About a year ago, when the BBC provided MP3 streams for us to listen to whilst they tinker about with various chunked delivery formats, their stated intention was to switch the MP3 streams off in "a year or two."

According to radionow.co.uk, "Legacy mp3 streams accessible by all internet radios are planned by the BBC to cease by the end of 2017." (http://www.radio-now.co.uk/buy_wifi_internet_radios.htm).

Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i, Sangean WFR-29C, Technisat 450 & 520, Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010, IR110 & DIR3100.

Interesting that they're pitching the Zetally Avy as an answer to the BBC's planned obsolesence of the mp3 streams.
