Grace Mondo Radios For $75 on Amazon
« on: 18:42:14 | 07 February, 2016 »
Apologies if this isn't the right place for this...

Amazon has the Grace Mondo Radios in Black for $74.71 (as I write this). They are open box and rated as "Like New" condition. I bought one ($81 at the time) on Friday that arrived today (via Prime). I can't tell that it's ever been opened. Everything is still wrapped up tightly in the original mfg's packaging. I don't see how it could have been repackaged that well after being opened. Of course, Caveat Emptor! Let the buyer beware- I have no idea what the history of these radios is, so there's no guarantee that they really are new- or all as perfect as the one I received. But there are pages of them available. Of course, Amazon's prices go up and down constantly, so who knows how long it will last. I just wanted to pass it along!

***And Lower Still: $69 USD On Tuesday (Feb 9) At 07:30 UTC

***Down A Little More: $66 USD on Wednesday (Feb 10) At 08:00 UTC  (The white version is $123 & Red is $350+)

Sounds like a good deal either way.
Several possibilities: Grace may be selling new radios as "returns" just to get rid of them to make way for the next model line, or, sometimes buyers return things unopened and unwrapped, so you might even have an absolutely new radio.
Since they are being sold as "used", all that really counts is that it works and is in acceptable condition.

I wouldn't be surprised. Grace haven't announced any new radios for quite some time. From what I found out at the Funkausstellung last year, the supply of Barracuda and Stingray modules has just about dried up (the processors are not made any more), and there are no new Reciva modules on the horizon. If Grace wants to stay in the internet radio business, they will either have to commission new Reciva modules themselves, or jump ship, say to Frontier. After all, Frontier can offer Spotify integration, which Reciva never managed. On the other hand, Frontier radios don't have Pandora. In the meantime, however Grace decide to proceed, they will need to get shot of remaining stock.
Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i & SB1 (×2),  Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010, IR110 & DIR3500, Technisat 520, Sangean WFR-29C.

... and the Encore, in black or walnut (looks quite nice; pity Avox never got that version).

UK price already slashed:

The Avox Color is still available at MacWay in France for €149.

Grace did once tell me that their radios offered in Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de are not put there by Grace themselves, but by intermediate traders; the radios are US spec, as some buyers have observed, having problems persuading the radios to keep to British or European time.

I never could get all my Grace radios to agree when daylight savings time begins or ends.

Grace expects new stock to arrive shortly.  Apparently they had better-than-expected Christmas sales and ran out.
