Need a new radio with Radio Feeds UK and Ireland app
« on: 06:17:05 | 29 November, 2017 »
Hello

I have been a very happy owner of 2 Logitech Squeeze boxes for many years now.

I need to replace one and as they have been discontinued :'(  I need to find a new brand.

The thing is I am based in Europe and one of the radio stations I listen to all the time is only available through an app called Radio Feeds UK and Ireland which I installed on my radio through uesmartradio.com.

Apologies if this is a daft question, but do other devices have similar functionalities and if so, which one do you recommend?

Thanks in advance

Julie

So, are you using a VPN or smartDNS to bypass the lock?

No, if I access it via the app, it works.

Well it works here but is not available if you search for it directly on the radio stations available

Hence I need a radio on which I can install this app

Anybody know of one?

Are we talking about "Absolute Radio 80s", "The UK's only 80s radio station", based in London, genre: pop/oldies, streaming at 112kbps MP3, now (9:25 CET / 8:25 GMT) playing the Christian O'Connel Breakfast Show?

I only ask because it is listed on my Frontier-based Hama radio, and plays fine here in Berlin. It also works using the "radio.net" and "tunein" apps on my Android phone. It is therefroe not geo-locked as far as Europe is concerned. (Not yet, anyway - who knows what effect %#§##%& Brexit will have on internet radio.). As it works on my Hama, it should also work on any current Frontier-based radio, like those from Hama, Roberts, Technisat, Revo, Goodmans, DNT and many other brands. It should work on Reciva-based radios, too - perhaps someone outwith the UK could check?
Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i & SB1 (×2),  Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010, IR110 & DIR3500, Technisat 520, Sangean WFR-29C.
