Looking for an HLS playing radio
« on: 23:43:14 | 13 May, 2018 »
Hello,

i hope you guys can help me. I m looking for hardware to play this stream:

http://cdn1.live.irib.ir:1935/e-radio/r-khorasanrazavi.stream/playlist.m3u8

also available in m3u

http://cdn1.live.irib.ir:1935/e-radio/r-khorasanrazavi.stream/playlist.m3u

I guess it is hls in aac format but i am not sure. I tested many different hardware without success. What i am looking for is an internetradio with infrarot control where i can immidiately start the stream by pressing one button.

Thanks in advance.

You could try running MinimStreamer and MinimServer on your network as explained on http://minimradio.com. That solution works fine for playing BBC HLS radio streams.

Correct. I was given a Windows 10 notebook recently for which I had no use, so I decided to put MinimStreamer and MinimServer on it thus allowing my Reciva radios to tune in to BBC HLS streams. So your choice will be to invest in a small networked media server or NAS to run MinimStreamer, or in a new internet radio that can handle HLS. Reciva-based radios that can play HLS natively do not exist, so far as I know.

The Grace digital plus radios play HLS streams.  In Europe, they are available at Amazon.co.uk and I believe that they ship to Germany. According to this thread, Frontier Silicon radios don't support HLS.  http://iradioforum.net/forum/index.php?topic=2518.0

I tried your m3u8 steam on my Grace Encore Plus and it played without trouble.
