Logik IR100 Beta Firmware
« on: 13:32:37 | 23 May, 2018 »
Does anyone have a copy of the Beta firmware for the Logik IR100; 257-a-865-a-476?

Mine has the last official release but the Beta version doesn't seem to be available to download any longer.

Reciva still sometimes accept requests for the beta firmware (a.k.a. Legacy Enhanced Firmware). Send them an e-mail explaining the problem, ask them to enable the beta for your radio (you'll need to tell them the radio's serial number, to be found in the Settings (a.k.a. Configure) menu). If/when they do, go to My Radio on their website and you should find an Enable Legacy firmware (or some such words) box to tick, tick it, save, and then ask your radio to update the firmware.

Hi,

Did you succeed contacting them ?  There is no email contact on their webpage, and requesting to enable the "enhanced firmware" lands me on an error page..
Thanks ,
Nicolas.

"info@reciva.com" and "support@reciva.com"  have worked in the past.  @dp , do you have any updated e-mail contact information?  Thanks.

Yes, I contacted them and got a reply within 24 hours. They asked for the code from the radio and I was able to download the beta firmware as requested.

Further to this thread... I recently acquired a second Logik IR100 which has a faulty Barracuda module, confirmed by swapping over with my working set. Installing my working module gets the set up and running fine.

I've read up on possible re-flashing the memory as fix to the faulty one via a JTAG adapter. I had hoped to backup the firmware from my working radio as a source but it appears I have eliminated this option by my previous upgrade to the Beta version. Apparently the code was changed to prevent this.

Does anyone have a backup copy of firmware from a Barracuda module I could use to try and fix my faulty one or failing that is it possible to 'downgrade' my working unit to an official release to create a backup?

Any help greatly appreciated!

For info.

Radios running a firmware version no higher than v257 can be Sharpfinned. Once that has been done it is possible to flash any earlier firmware which is held on Reciva's servers.

In this case which prompted the downgrade question the missing nanddump command can be added using Sharpfin. No firmware downgrade is required.

...where "running" is the operative word. If the radio is not running, you can't Sharpfin it.
Radios in use: Roberts Stream 93i, Sangean WFR-29C, Technisat 450 & 520, Revo Pixis RX, Hama DIT2010, IR110 & DIR3100.

Yes, in this case the question was about downgrading a working radio in order to get firmware from it to flash a non-working module.
