Logik IR100 display fading
« on: 02:39:22 | 23 April, 2019 »
I dug out an old Logik IR100 that has been gathering dust for quite some time and fired it up.
It works fine with one issue.

The display is set at the maximum of 31 but is still quite faint. Is there anything I could do to rectify this?

I assume I need to obtain an new display unit if such a thing even exists now.

Is it the backlight that has faded or the LCD "sandwich" itself?

Not sure. I would say the LCD sandwich, but really couldn't be 100% sure.

Is there an easy way to tell?

I have a CC Wifi, which I believe is similar to the Logik.  I got it from CCrane and had them physically disconnect the light before sending it to me and in a lighted room one can still read the screen quite well.  Thus, the light is not needed just to read the screen so if you can't read the screen well then I suspect the problem is not the light.

I can read the screen but it is much faded from what it used to be like when last used.
It's been in storage since the BBC changed things.

http://iradioforum.net/forum/index.php?topic=2428.0 may have useful information after the first few posts. The Logik IR100 has the same 16x4 LCD as the Logik IRMA1 that I refer to in that thread.
