On my Reciva radio here in the UK the bitrates are as follows: Radio 3  320kbps AAC, Radio 4 FM 128kbps MP3 (the DASH High-quality UK only stream is listed but does not work), Radio Five Live 128kbps MP3.

I get BBC Radio 3, 4 & 5 at 96kbps AAC. I'm curious to know if I were in the UK would this play at  320kbps?

I can confirm that those stations stream at 320kbps AAC using a Roberts SB1 Soundbar in the UK.
The only exceptions to this bitrate with BBC stations seem to be the World Service & BBC Arabic which use mp3 at 64kbps.

Thank you to previous contributers for answering my query. I'm not sure if BBC still intend to drop the MP3 service used by Reciva but I'll be up to date
with the SB1.

Can somebody share with firmware for HAMA DIR3100MS (00054819)?
It looks that mentioned ir-mmi-FS2026-0500-0373_V2.11.12c.EX65964-1A2 should be OK

Thanks in advance

AIUI, FS firmwares are only downloadable directly into the device so I don't understand your request.

ir-mmi-FS2026-0500-0373_V2.11.12c.EX65964-1A2

This is the same firmware as my DIR3100.

I looked up "internet radio PC wizard", and found that it seems to be a known problem, not just for Hama radios. The radio gets stuck on the PC wizard mode (whatever that is), and restarting it does not clear it. I suggest that you contact Hama. They are usually quite good at answering customer questions.

Interesting. I wondernif a crossflash is possible? I have a dr860 on fw 2.11.. Without spitify connect. Would a crossflash be successful to for example 2.12?

If, by 'crossflash', you mean copying the firmware from one radio to another, no, it is not possible. The firmware for Frontier radios is specific to each model, and includes or excludes the various drivers required for the particular hardware in that model, and the features which the brand chose to order from Frontier. If Albrecht decided not to include Spotify Connect for their DR860, you cannot add it yourself. Technically, Albrecht could ask Frontier to provide a firmware update including Spotify Connect, but they are hardly likely to do that as they would have to pay for it.

Some recent Roberts and Hama radios are advertised with that feature, too.

Not for me, though - I don't have Alexa and don't want it, either. I'd rather press buttons than have some gadget listening to me all the time.

As we don't have Alexa, well some of us, is there anything worth knowing about on this recent firmware?

From Como Audio website:
New: Adds support for "Works with Alexa".
New: Adds support for the free version of Spotify Connect.
New: Adds support for the https protocol as employed by many Internet stations and Podcasts.
New: Restores default Como Audio preset stations following a Factory reset instead of spoken message.
New: Adds Privacy notice as required by law.

Ah, now that one is worth noting.

I wonder if our friends at Robert and Hama will be adding that feature to their existing radios?
