Frontier Silicon portal problems 17 Oct 2020
« on: 09:54:19 | 17 October, 2020 »
I have a Roberts Stream 83i.  Turned on the radio only to discover it won't stream from any station I've tried such as BBC Radio 1.   Just stuck on 'Connecting....' or 'Reconnecting....'

I've tried factory reset, using ethernet and wifi, and going through a VPN router.  The radio picks up the correct time, and with bit of patience, I can access the Stations list.

I've just tried to log into the FS web portal and I get bad gateway.  I get same error using VPN via USA.  hmm, something broken....

As I'm typing, I just managed to stream Classic FM.

It's possible the Roberts has developed a new fault.

I have a non-Frontier-Silicon based internet radio (Ocean Digital) and that works just fine.

Update 6.10pm
Predefined stations like BBC, MagicFM etc now suddenly working.

But custom defined stations stored in My Favourites are hit or miss.

  • I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong!

Reported elsewhere that Frontier Silicon have had issues which should now be fixed.
I thought that I was wrong once, but I may have been mistaken :-)

Good to know that I was not the only one. Even replaced the ethernet cable. Everything ok again since last evening.
