BBC to end iPlayer Radio app...
« on: 12:34:52 | 05 September, 2019 »
... this month - September 2019

Users will be migrated to BBC Sounds. However, Sounds will not be available outside the UK.

There's been a few questions about whether international listeners can continue to listen to our programmes now that we'll be replacing iPlayer Radio with BBC Sounds - here's the answer ->

Thanks for asking - happy to clarify.  We hope to make the BBC Sounds app available outside the UK in the future but until then listeners can access our content as they do now, both on the BBC Sounds website (including through your mobile) and the international iPlayer Radio app.[/quote]

I don't know. I use the Radio iPlayer app in the car. It streams very well. Intrigues the occasional passenger listening to BBC drive time while battling down the New Jersey turnpike.

I was back in the UK a few weeks ago. The Sounds app was very poor in comparison to the iPlayer.
